The season is over, but Spartans still have alot to be proud of in 2006!

Hoggard came out slinging and never looked back. There is a reason that they are undefeated and we saw why. Does it take away from a great Spartan season? Oh no! I was at the concession stand and I overheard a gentleman talking about the 1988 Hoggard team - that's 18 years ago! What the Spartans did this year will live on in the same manner. This young team overachieved and will be a force to reckoned with come next year.
To the seniors, you gave it your all. Never feel bad or upset for giving your all. Take this as one of life's lessons - the game is not over! It is not over until you stop trying! Chris Rivers (33), Johnny Evans, Jr. (51), Eli Sessoms (14), John Cobb (77), DeCorey Jones (3), Harvey Wall (79), DJ Marshall (23), Amos Jones (52), Eric Pettiford (22), Victor Hunt, Jr. (11), Sean Mangum (30), Marcilini Simon (2), James Hamm (78), Anthony Doberson (76) and Charles Smith -- The Spartan nation salutes you for all of your hard work and dedication to making the program one of excellence and class! I look forward to tracking your progress on the next level.

To the parents and supporters of Southern football, I applaud you! Going on the road twice to Fayetteville and once to Wilmington to support the team is very commendable. Next year we will not have to travel - as we will have home field advantage throughout the playoffs :-) Remember, you heard it here first!
Color prints of any photograph (on this site) are available. 8 x 10 prints are available for $20 each. If you buy more than 1, I will include a CD with the selected images.
If you would like to purchase a CD (or CDs) of all of the pictures that I have taken this year, for this sight, email me. They are available for only $20!
Next year we will have game programs! Seniors and their families, we still owe you!
To the Best Band in the Land - the Spartan Band... they showed up and out all year long. The Hoggard crowd was most appreciative of their halftime show, taking lots of pictures and giving the band a standing ovation.
In grading the officials, I'd give them an A. They never interjected themselves into the flow of the game and in a game of this nature where tempers are apt to erupt, they kept everything calm. They also didn't call unnecessary penalties that would have prolonged the game. One official was even kind enough to give me an explanation of the illegal participation rule.
The views and opinions on this site are mine, and are not those of Durham Southern High School.
